Twitter's Classy UX Designer.

Zhanna Shamis, Twitter's UX Designer

Are there much attractive women techies in the Bay Area?

Seems like much of them are in Los Angeles... I guess that kind of makes the name more accurate. More hot techies in LaLaLand = TechLaLa. Unintentional, but works out well. Send me some more attractive women from San Francisco and elsewhere please. misterx@techlala.com

A Beauty Queen Turned Serious Web Designer?

Larissa Meek - Web Designer

Not too long ago, I posted a blog about another Beauty Pageant Winner and somehow, I found a second one that works in the tech industry. Larissa has competed in Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and was on the show Average Joe. And she knows serious HTML (not just How To Make Love either...)

Unfortunately at 2:54, she could not seem to answer the question. Not her proudest moment, and it's tough to be forced to answer a question on a subject she has no idea about. At least she did better than Miss Teen USA in this clip you may remember. And this was 8 years ago. Maybe in that time, she's learned a lot. From what I understand, she actually has a lot of cred as a web designer now.

I tried to find the a clip of the Average Joe: Hawaii in which she was the star, but couldn't dig it up on YouTube. She probably picked a programmer or something in the end. If you find the clip, please post it below in your comments.

Type-A Woman

Adriana Gascoigne: SGN's Director of Global Communications, Founder of Girls in Tech

She wrote a lot in her bio on her page, but here's a summary:

  • Director of Global Communications for SGN
  • Director of Global Communications for hi5
  • Vice President of the 360 Digital Influence Group at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide
  • Not only that, but she founded a site that we respect greatly, Girls in Tech

  • Seems like an independent woman and works her butt off. Hopefully not all work and no play...

Attention Seeker, and She Gets What She Seeks!

Justine Ezarik - (iJustine) Internet Personality, blogger.

She's funny. Lively and goofy personality. I think she's cool but it would probably would get annoying after awhile, and you might need a break after an hour with her. Definitely craves attention constantly. That's why she's vlogging, twittering, blogging, etc. But hey, she's hot. A lot of hot girls like attention. That's just how it is.

BTW, she recently landed a gig at MTV, which means bringing some of the youth audience back that have moved to the internet for entertainment. So aside from all the other ways she gets attention, TV is another.
